Ibiza is in no doubt a beautiful and magical island, the energy of the island reflects in all things and the celebration of love is no exception.
Shooting weddings in Ibiza is by far one of my most enjoyable experiences in photography, the light and colours are astounding. The character of the islanders and those visiting the island shines brightly. Intimate family weddings are usually the most emotionally charged and that’s where I find the most satisfaction, capturing emotions!
I’m not one to stop a wedding just to get a shot, unless asked to prior to the day. I believe the event is the priority, not the photographers interpretation. Posed shots are not high on the agenda but that again is decided prior to the event. I enjoy working with couples who don’t like posed wedding photography. ‘I hate having my photo taken’ usually comes up in meetings. Couples who prefer a more candid approach with a reportage style tend to be enjoying their day more, in my experience so far.
Shooting for Emma & Marco was a delight on so many levels. Having met a few months prior to the wedding and connected over a glass of wine and discussions about their love story was a wonderful start to the experience. The family were open to me being there on their most intimate day, sharing stories and emotions which always leads to the results that matter way into the future.
Weddings are about family and celebrating the love and I am fortunate enough to relate and connect, it is more than just business, it is about loving what you do and reflecting back to those who love their lives with the same passion and direction I find in wedding photography.
